A certified instructor with the Canadian Dance Teachers Association, Susana also holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts from Ryerson University. She is credited with having taught a number of Vancouver's Salsa teachers. Susana gave her first performance of Salsa and Merengue in Toronto in 1986. Soon after she began assisting in class instruction.

By 1989, Susana was winner of the first ever Salsa Competition at Berlin Nightclub (now called Manhattan Fuel). After winning that competition, she went on to assist in the organization and promotion of the club's following 8 competitions.

Recently Susana was in TV commercials for Zales Jewelers and Armstrong Flooring. Since her arrival in Vancouver, Susana has spawned a whole new crop of talented Salsa dancers. Between teaching sessions Susana makes regular trips to Latin America to continue her study of dance. With over 20 years of dancing, Susana has developed her clear, concise system of teaching which breaks steps down to achievable segments.
